Bugatti, just like other exotic automakers such as Rolls-Royce and Aston Martin, doesn't mess around with special editions of its breathtaking cars. Like memorable editions of the legendary Veyron, these ultra-exclusive models often pay homage to the brand's colorful past while making the stock models even more enticing.
The latest example of this is the new Bugatti Chiron Sport Les Legendes du Ciel. As you may have guessed, it's based on the Bugatti Chiron Sport. Only 20 examples will be produced, with the new model honoring the brand's racing drivers or "daredevils", many of whom were skilled pilots.
These strong links to aviation helped to inspire the new Les Legendes du Ciel and are ingrained in the fabric of the company.
Founder Ettore Bugatti had always been intrigued by aviation, having once designed aircraft engines himself. This special edition of the Chiron Sport, therefore, features upgrades that reference some of the features of classic aircraft.
Outside, the Bugatti is finished in matt-grey Gris Serpent paint, a color that is a throwback to planes built in the 1920s. The Les Legendes du Ciel logo can be found on the front wings, while a combination of Blue, White, and Red forms the Le Bleu-Blanc-Rouge tricolor. Exposed carbon fiber adorns select elements like the W16 engine cover, while a Sky Roof is available optionally. The detailing is typically exceptional. For instance, the radiator grille mesh is fashioned from laser-cut and deep-drawn aluminum.
