Police departments throughout the world often like to have their so-called halo cars. In Italy, they have been privileged enough to acquire a Lamborghini Huracan for both promotional and service needs. Meanwhile in Dubai, the police have become famous for its seemingly growing fleet of supercars. Even in the US, there's the occasional Ford Mustang with a set of rollers on its roof. So, what all-American sports car/muscle car could come next? Perhaps the new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray.
These new renderings created by graphic artist Aksyonov Nikita, via Behance, show a possible future involving a C8 Corvette Police Interceptor. Some familiar must-have police modifications are obvious, such as the light bar, spotlight, and bigger steel wheels. We gotta admit, the C8 does look good hereNikita claimed he began with the Stingray Coupe with the Z51 performance package and then added the aforementioned features along with police graphics running across the entire side of the coupe. Additional "Protect and Serve" and "911" stickers are also visible.
If a police department sought to obtain a C8, we highly doubt they'd change anything regarding the naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8 with a total of 495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. After all, a stock C8 can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds, putting it on par with the likes of the Nissan GT-R and Acura NSX. Not bad for a car that can begin at $60,000.
