550-HP Lexus J201 Concept Is An Off-Road Enthusiast's Dream Chunky off-road rubber and a raised air intake are just two of the many upgrades.

The Lexus LX 570 has been around for over 10 years in its current basic form, which is an age in modern automotive terms. Although Lexus has tried to keep the big SUV fresh with a host of updates, most recently a limited edition LX Inspiration Series, there's no denying that a replacement is due. Hopefully, this isn't too far off.

Until that happens, Lexus has just unveiled something else to keep us intrigued: the J201 Concept. It's essentially a beefed-up, raised version of the LX 570 which Lexus says has been assembled by overlanding experts Expedition Overland. The name 'J201' stems from the LX 570's internal chassis and platform code, URJ201.

Volvo Approves Plans For Mystery New SUV...

Although sales for sedans like the Volvo S60 and S80 are not the strongest these days, popularity for its SUVs has never been higher. The Volvo XC40 and larger XC60 and XC90 are proving to be formidable competitors in their respective luxury SUV segments. Meanwhile, the XC40's all-electric sibling, the XC40 Recharge, Volvo's first-ever pure electric SUV, has just entered production. So where does Volvo go from here, aside from regular model cycle redesigns? Well, it appears it's going smaller and all-electric. According to Auto Express, Volvo has decided its next SUV will be an all battery-electric even smaller than the XC40. More than likely, it'll be called the XC20, a nameplate the firm has already trademarked. Speaking to Volvo CEO Hakan Samuelsson at this year's Beijing Auto Show, he confirmed the smaller XC20 EV SUV will be one of Volvo's first vehicle to ride on a new dedi...

Mercedes-Benz EQS: Platform and underpinnings The EQS is the first in an extended range of EQ models to use Mercedes-Benz’s dedicated EVA (Electric Vehicle Architecture) platform and has been conceived as an electric-powered equivalent to the S-Class sedan – alongside which it will be produced in Sindelfingen, Germany. The new EVA platform, which is also earmarked for the upcoming EQE, EQE SUV and EQS SUV, brings air suspension at each corner and a rear-wheel steering system with a standard 4.5deg of rear steering angle. Mercedes-Benz EQS: design and styling The production EQS stays largely true to the 2019 EQS Vision concept, with an uncharacteristic cab-forward profile. Its appearance is dominated by what Mercedes describes as a “one-bow roofline” that stretches back to form a heavily angled liftback-style tailgate. Other key styling elements include a black grille panel bookended by a pair of angular headlights - themselves joined by a...
