All-electric Mercedes-Benz EQS revealed 15th Apr 2021 11:14 pmLuxury electric sedan features radical new Hyperscreen and has a 770km range; India launch slated to take place by early next year.

Mercedes-Benz EQS: Platform and underpinnings The EQS is the first in an extended range of EQ models to use Mercedes-Benz’s dedicated EVA (Electric Vehicle Architecture) platform and has been conceived as an electric-powered equivalent to the S-Class sedan – alongside which it will be produced in Sindelfingen, Germany. The new EVA platform, which is also earmarked for the upcoming EQE, EQE SUV and EQS SUV, brings air suspension at each corner and a rear-wheel steering system with a standard 4.5deg of rear steering angle. Mercedes-Benz EQS: design and styling The production EQS stays largely true to the 2019 EQS Vision concept, with an uncharacteristic cab-forward profile. Its appearance is dominated by what Mercedes describes as a “one-bow roofline” that stretches back to form a heavily angled liftback-style tailgate. Other key styling elements include a black grille panel bookended by a pair of angular headlights - themselves joined by a...

Would You Be Happy If The 2022 BMW X8 M Looked Like This?

Earlier this year, we found out that the upcoming BMW X8 M won't just be the Bavarian marque's most powerful SUV, but its most powerful M car. Powered by a plug-in hybrid powertrain - the first for a full-fat M car - the hyper SUV is expected to produce up to 750 horsepower. That's a lot more than the 617 horses generated by the 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine in the likes of the M5 Competition, BMW's most powerful current engine. But what will the X8 M look like? Like you, we're almost afraid of the answer to that question based on some of BMW's latest designs, but superrenderscars on Instagram has given us an idea of what to anticipate.

New Ford's Mammoth 'Godzilla' V8 Isn't Coming To The Mustang...

Nonetheless, Ford's Godzilla V8 was built with just a singular purpose in mind: to work. It's a unique design, not based on any other V8 in the Ford production V8 lineup, available in the 2020-model-year  Ford F-Series Super Duty  and Ford E-Series vans. Peak output is a stout 430 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque. Granted, it's already been proven that the Godzilla V8 has plenty of overhead for tuners; just this month, Brian Wolfe, Ford Racing's former director, managed to  squeeze nearly 800 horsepower  out of the mill while keeping it naturally aspirated. The engine will eventually power a Fox-body Mustang drag racer. With a retail price of just $8,150, we imagine the engine will land in plenty more drag racer projects before production is through. "I'm not aware of any plans for [Mustang]," Pat Hertrich, the engineering supervisor on the Godzilla project, told Muscle Cars and Truc...
